Map and geocoding attribution.

The interactive client uses MapLibre GL JS for rendering. The current map style and tiles are provided by OpenFreeMap; the map's attribution control is kept visible in the map interface. Read the OpenFreeMap project information and MapLibre project information for their respective terms.

Reviewed place coordinates may be resolved with OpenStreetMap Nominatim during the manual workflow. Nominatim results are cached and the current operator workflow follows its usage policy, including rate limiting and a descriptive User-Agent. Capital representatives come from a vendored GeoNames snapshot under CC BY 4.0; the selection record is documented in the repository methodology notes.

What Mapews republishes.

The collector keeps titles, short descriptions, publication or observation times, provider IDs, canonical URLs, and source metadata needed to explain a map event. It does not fetch or republish the full text of external news articles. External links remain subject to their publishers' terms, availability, and corrections.
